Pack meeting, oh how I hate thee...

For those of you who know me well, you know how much I despise cub scout pack meetings. I love that my boys are scouts. I really believe in the scouting program and think that it helps to shape little boys into outstanding young men, but I hate how the boys do cheers after they are handed their badges, belt loops, etc. Not only do we have to do a cheer for every boy, we also have to stand up while doing it. Up, cheer, sit down, up, cheer, sit down, repeat. Just so that you can get a glimpse of my torture, here are two video clips of my boys doing scout cheers. Remember, these are only two of about twenty. This ritual takes place every fourth Wednesday and takes about an hour. It honestly takes all of my energy not to scream "just get this stupid thing over with already"! Enjoy!

Seriously, what on earth does this have to do with scouting??? Does anyone else have to do this at their pack meetings?

How funny you should post this! Just yesterday I was talking with one of the Scout leaders who also thinks the cheers after each boy are silly. Why can't we do a cheer at the end of all the awards???

Yep. Been there, felt that! Isn't the award enough of a cheer?
