Biking on the Legacy Parkway Trail

Last Friday the kids and I invited Mom to meet us for a bike ride on the Legacy Parkway Trail. It is a 14 mile paved trail adjacent to the Legacy Highway and Legacy Nature Preserve. It was so much fun! It is a beautiful trail where you can see lots of birds and wonderful wildflowers. We got on at the Pages Lane trail head and rode north for about 3 1/2 miles before turning around and heading back. It was overcast which made the ride a lot more enjoyable. Christopher was our photographer. He got one shot of us and one of himself.

Don't you just love his disposable sunglasses. He had an eye appointment earlier in the week and got these throwaways after getting his eyes dilated. He told me that he was so excited that he finally had sunglasses! I couldn't stand it! I took him to Costco and ordered a real pair of prescription sunglasses. I know it's a little prideful on my part, especially when he was so excited to wear these, but come on! I couldn't let him wear those all summer!

How many times have we looked back and wondered "Mom how could you have let me wear that?" I don't think they are that bad, but you can't tell they are flimsy plastic in the picture. You're a good Mom for getting him some sturdy sunglasses. Now you have to make sure he takes care of them!
