Luaus and Star Wars

Today we had two luaus to go to. Katrina and I went to a Mother/Daughter luau for her Achievement Day activity in the morning and then we went to Jim's company party luau for lunch. It was so fun! Check out this video of Jim dancing. Go baby go!

Afterward, we took the kids to see Star Wars Clone Wars. The kids saved their money to buy their own movie tickets. The boys loved it!! Jim and I spent half the movie watching their enthralled faces. What boy doesn't love Star Wars?!

Here are my two Jedis from Halloween last year.

Utah State Capital Building

Today we went with a group of friends on a tour to the Utah State Capital Building and the Daughters of Utah Pioneers Museum. I have always wanted to go there especially now that the renovations are mostly completed. It was really beautiful and very interesting.
The Utah State Capital Building

The Mormon Battalion Monument

Inside the rotunda.

Italian marble lions replaced the concrete ones in the renovation.
Look at the beautiful marble wall panels that were cut and pieced together in wonderful patterns. Katrina said it looked like she was in a tornado.
I am a member of the DUP, how about you?? (Daughters of Utah Pioneers)
We were VERY quiet and respectful in the museum, NOT!! But we had a lot of fun. There were 5 moms and 17 children. The patrons were very patient and understanding.

Thanks Em for arranging a wonderful outing!!

School Countdown

Sunday School

I have been asked to teach the fourteen year olds in Sunday School. They have been studying the teachings from the Book of Mormon this year. I am so grateful for this opportunity to study the Book of Mormon more in depth. I am so blessed to belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and to know that we have a living prophet that leads and guides this church.

Reward: Lagoon

This summer I challenged the kids to do one page front and back out of their summer workbooks and read 20 minutes every day. If they met this goal, we would take them to Lagoon. (Lagoon is an amusement park here in UT.) Well, let's just say Katrina was the only one who did it without complaining, but we all went to Lagoon. We had a great time.
