A new Sunday dress, homemade calzones and fresh peas from the garden

Grandma wants to see a picture of Katrina in her new Sunday outfit. She is so cute and becoming quite the young lady.

Tonight we made homemade calzones for dinner as a family. I forgot to take a picture after they came out of the oven. They were eaten pretty fast. Yum!




Poor Caleb. His face is right at counter height. He didn't realize he was getting flour all over his face. Too cute!

I forgot to post these pics from last Sunday. We picked peas from our garden, the kids shelled them, and we ate them with dinner. It is so fun to eat things right from the garden.

Ah, the memories...

When I was growing up, my brothers and sister and I spent a lot of Sunday afternoons building forts in the living room. Jim and I were downstairs for awhile and came up to find the kids in their sheet and blanket city. They are having so much fun. I just heard Katrina telling Christopher "that a place was coming up for rent soon because Caleb was moving". Caleb promptly responded, "I am not!" I love that they are playing together and using their imagination.

Truck for Sale!

The time has finally come for us to part with our little truck. Jim and I have mixed emotions about selling it. It was an answer to prayer 4 years ago. At the time, Jim was taking the bus to work downtown and then got transferred out by the airport and we only had one car. What were we going to do? Katrina was going into first grade and Christopher was starting kindergarten. There was no way that I could walk back and forth up the hill to school three times a day pushing Caleb in the stroller. We needed a second car. So we prayed and some neighbors called and asked if we might be interested in buying their truck, cheap! A miracle! I have faith that our Heavenly Father knows what we need and will help us if we only take the time to humbly ask. Now we think it's time for someone else's prayers to be answered. Thanks little truck for hauling A LOT of mulch and woodchips over the past 4 years!!

Boogie Shoes

I've done it! I finally bought (literally) into this running craze. These are my new running shoes. SO fancy! SO comfortable! Now, it's time to get in shape. After having pneumonia last year, my lung capacity just isn't what it used to be, so it's slow going for me right now. I used to run the track behind our house growing up all the time. I wasn't very fast then either!!!

Just a little plug for our local running shoe store, DeBoer's on Main Street. They do a total fitting and run test with you to make sure you have the best shoes. I was so impressed! And, if you pay with cash you get a 20% discount!!

Sewing fun

Katrina and Caleb both asked for help with some sewing projects today. (I know, they will be picking those stitches out with their noses in the hereafter for sewing on the Sabbath, but they don't know that!! LOL!!) Katrina wanted to make a bag that would hold a water bottle and any candy she gets from the 24th of July parade. (Our city has a parade on July 24th to honor Pioneer Day.)

Champions!!

It's all worth it!! Christopher's team won 10-7 in the little league championship game tonight. They beat the Yankees who were undefeated. We totally have bleacher bum from going to all of his tournament games this week. I am so proud of him for sticking with it. Go Cardinals!!!

My friend Rebekah just sent me the cutest bag! I totally love it! She remembered that this was a favorite fabric of mine. It is the perfect size. I love that the older my kids get, the smaller my purse gets!
