Girls Camp

I had one of the best times in my life at girls camp this year. We did so many crafts, including hats that looked like the royal wedding hats. We received a charm to put on our necklaces every day that I was there. They were so cute!! We ate really good food and I got to help make it!

This is a good variety of what the hats looked like

My good friend Addy had tons of fun making her poofy hat

I had a really good time making these hats and wearing them to all of the stake activities and meals

Since it was raining a ton there, I went outside with all my friends and all of the YCL's. I went only to take pictures, because I didn't want to get really muddy.

On Thursday all of the 2nd years went on a beautiful hike. It was about 3 miles long. It was fun to talk to friends and listen to all of the birds singing.

As part of girls camp we did a service project. The service project was making "I Spy" bottles for Primary Children's Hospital.

Jenny Phillips came for a fireside and sang some songs and shared some personal stories with the our stake. Afterwards we were able to get pictures with her.

Bragging Rights!!

Last night we went to my annual Church Office Building Food Service Employees party. It was so fun to see old friends and co-workers! We had a real Mexican fiesta. Ranchero steak tacos with fresh corn tortillas, Carnitas, fresh cheese, amazing guacamoles, corn on the cob, rice and beans. SO delish!! Prior to the party, I decided to enter the Salsa Cook-off competition they were going to have. I became extremely nervous when I found out I was competing against some of the head chefs! ACK! Still...I knew I had a good black bean salsa recipe, that is always a crowd pleaser and so decided to pushed on...
Is it wrong that I am so stinkin' proud that I won the most votes and received the "Most Popular Salsa" award??!!

My winnings included this wonderful certificate (that is proudly displayed on my fridge), this fancy sombrero, red hot oven mitts, and a bottle of Tapatio hot sauce! Life is good!!

The boys rocking out!

Waiting for it to get dark to light the fireworks

Katrina got her hair and nails done by a lady in our ward in exchange for free babysitting

Caleb bought his own fireworks and couldn't wait to light them off!

What's been going on lately...

Too many activities, not enough blogging. Here's a few pics of what the kids have been up to:
Christopher's been on lots of scout campouts. Rain, shine or snow!

Caleb went to the District Math Olympiad. Here he is with his friend Jonny and their windmobile. He competed in windmobiles, SET, and tangrams. He took first place with his teammate Benny in SET!

Katrina performed in the school orchestra. She got her orchestra teacher to teach them a Star Wars song, pretty cool!

Caleb had his Mountain Man Rendevous at school. All of the kids were supposed to try catching a fish with their hands. Caleb got grossed out when he felt the slimey fish and opted to "net" a fish instead. That's my scout!!

Christopher built and launched his rocket. It blasted out of the school grounds and took us 45 minutes to find.

Caleb played in his recorder concert.

Lots of fun going on around here!!
